The Sheep Detectives — 3/5
People seemed to be chatting about this thing inciting tears and, yes, it did make me shed a couple, but I'm just going to associate that with being old and weak vs young and in touch with my emotions. The movie has a sincerity which I've been clamoring for, but the voice acting feels disconnected from the characters, and the suspects within the detective story feel pretty unexplored, though yes there is some heart at its core. Emma Thompson pops up here and there to remind us what the correct tonality was meant to be. Oh well. Every 20 years, a 'Babe'-level event comes along, and unfortunately that was already answered with 'Paddington 2,' so we'll have to wait another 10 years for another in its line.
