One swell bear.
The Jungle Book -7/10. Don't tell anyone what they can't be, but you can't be anything more than what you are. These early Disney movies have more of a moral in their songs than they do their whole.

But other people fail to notice what they do when awake,
just as they forget what they do while asleep.

Because there is a fire called discovery burning within me
and I won't go back in the cave for anyone.

Works in progress.
New blog!
Hey, guys! I'm extending the freemarketresearch empire!
Please visit Your Daily Cry if you are prepared to cry like the bitch that you are.
Shut it, Love Actually.
Jumper - 6.5/10. The Nightcrawler scene in X-Men 2 times two hours. Fun. It's when it tries to organize a mythology around itself that it starts to buckle.
Someday, my free HBO/Cinemax subscription will run out.

We're in a tiny car.
Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist - 4/10. How long can you force two people to occupy the same space before you decide they don't belong next to each other. Boring music. It's sincerity bothered me.
I have successfully privatized world peace.
Iron Man 2 - 6.5/10. Scatter! Shot! What if Bruce Wayne was Batman. When Robert Downey, Jr. is Tony Stark, it does little wrong, but neither does it add up to a complete story or a complete villain or a complete love interest or a complete aside.

Solamen miseris socios habuisse doloris.
It is a comfort to the unfortunate to have had companions in woe.

You see, the great secret, Eliza,
is not a question of good manners or bad manners, or any particular sort of manners, but having the same manner for all human souls. The question is not whether I treat you rudely, but whether you've ever heard me treat anyone else better.

That's just weak songwriting.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox - 8/10. A Pleasant Movie. Everything I dislike about Wes Anderson made palatable, even endearing, in cartoon form. The emotion doesn't work because they didn't play an Elliott Smith song, but fuck it anyway.
