And me wan' go home.
Coraline - 6.5/10. Direct descendant of 'Beetlejuice,' which is an unfortunate comparison because the anarchy and everything-goes spirit of that movie had a welcome place in an impressive, but surprisingly humorless 'Coraline.'

why does it have to be funny? b/c it's animated? b/c the trailers/ads were 'so hilarious'?

It doesn't have to be good just because it seemed like it was going to be good, either, hey-o. I don't mean humor in hilarious. I mean it more as whimsical, or : that quality which appeals to a sense of the ludicrous or absurdly incongruous.
